Tidbits of My World

Yesterday I took a little trip to Michaels and got some goodies!

Some sweet file folders {har har har}, sushi erasers, these cardboard cupcake things, Easter cookie cutters {I'm officially collecting cookie cutters now, so if you have an unwanted cookie cutters, I'll gladly take them off your hands .. really .. it's no hassle}, and icing colors!

Here's a little update on my artwork ..

Thee Ice Cream Parlor. This isn't anything I plan to sell as it is on notebook paper and in my sketchbook.

My mom is convinced I shoud make my own cookbook with little drawings like this haha. I just might take her up on that offer .. OH! Or maybe I could create a zine? But not with my recipes, it would be a collaberation with a bunch of other cooks and bakers. Hm ..

Why am I writing down recipes you may be thinking? Well I've decided to take up baking! Yes, it seems reasonable considering how many dessert posts I make dedicated to the art of sugar. My mother has been really supportive; buying me the ingredients I need and even signing me up for a cake making class! {THEY'RE ONLY SIX BUCKS A CLASS AT MICHAELS!}. I'm really excited, I have so many ideas. HEHE! Oh and yesterday, to kick off my career in baking, yeah right, I made some funfetti cupcakes! As you could probably guess from my illustrations ..

I think I did a beautiful job for my first time! :} Not to brag or anything .. anyway these are basically my testing cupcakes. Either today, or some other time as my mountain trip may interfer with this plan, I'm going to make a bunch of different frostings and just play around with techinques and styles and flavors. I can't wait! I wish I could send all my lovely readers a cupcake .. <3

A Fate So Sweet

I've always had this random fantasy of owning a cute little pastry/cake/sweet shop. I think it would be so much fun! I'm not much of a pastry chef {hey a girl can learn!} but I have so many wonderful ideas and a passion for sugary sweetness. Oh it would be lovely; there would be pink everywhere, and glitter and sprinkles used as confetti. We'd be french inspired and play french pop and Katie Herzig, Lily Allen, and Kate Nash. I would throw little parties with cute themes and make limited edition cupcakes and serve champagne with rasberries and strawberry tea. Perhaps I'm out of my mind but what can I say? I'm a dreamer, I love conjuring up these whimisical lifestyles up in my head.

Follow the Girl While You Can

I wish I could live in the forest in a tree house, alone but kept in company by the rain and stars and woodland critters.

I'd weave daisies in my hair and collect acorns and berries, I'd sing with the bluebirds in the morning and play with the foxes at dusk. My life would be carefree and wonderful and nobody would hold me back from doing what I wanted to do. And I'll dream and sleep and dance without fretting what others will think. I'll be unburdened. I'll be myself.

Twilight never seizes to amaze me. Astronomy is just so fasiniating .. I think I could stargaze for the rest of eternity.

I Dive Into You

Reality is just so unoriginal. If it was a possibility to live in a dream land, I would.

Perhaps a woodland forest. Amongst the little critters, I would sing and wear ribbons in my hair and magical poofy dresses. I'd drink tea and collect berries with the foxes. I would pick daisies and sleep under the moon, next to the baby deer.

I'll knit flower stems to make crowns and wear feathers in my hair. I'll lay in the grass and stare at the clouds in the summertime with the bunnies and chipmunks.

In the winter, I'll help the squirrels collect acorns and build a little home in a wolf's den. The babies and I will watch the snow dance in nature's breathe and roll in the snow, giggling and squealing.

And I'll never be alone. I'll always have my little critter friends. Although they can't speak; we'll still chase each other through the trees, swim in the lakes, and drink from the streams.

In the times of harvest, I'll pick the apples from the trees and make yummy pies and treats. I'll build a cozy cottage and decorate it with cute trinkents and paintings and branches from the woods.

There's nothing wrong with having a head stuck in the clouds; those imaginary worlds we conjure up in our minds reflect who we are and what we desire. Although they will never become a reality, we find inspiration and ideas from these magical realms. Embrace your dreams. Sometimes in a dark world, they're the only hope.
