Soda Dreamer

School starts in four days. I have mixed emotions about it. I'm excited for the structure, seeing my friends everyday, and for the new opportunities but I'm dreading seeing people I don't like, the chaos and the stress, and never having enough time because my schedule is consumed by homework and work.
I've been told junior year is the worst year in high school. That doesn't bother me that much because I'm going to try to do my best in school anyway. I am going to apply for college (planning on going to FIDM, my dream school!) this year in order to freeze my tuition and that's an incredibly scary thought. As I rapidly approach the age where I am legally an adult, I realize how soon, I'll have to take care of myself. While I feel like I'm a pretty self-sufficient person, it's still a scary thought. But I suppose it's what I want. I have dreamed of being on my own and having complete independence and responsibility for myself. And soon, that will be the case.
While I adore summer and the freedom and the languid afternoons, I am starting to resent this hot weather. I want fall weather! I want to wear tights, winter coats, and scarfs! I want Halloween, the leaves to change color, that distinct crisp air in the morning, and holiday festivities. I'm ready for a change and a challenge. My sophomore year last year was definitely a scary transition just because I was returning to a normal life after the crazy year of treatment and recovery. This year, I feel a  lot more comfortable and confident within myself. I am dreading yet anticipating this next school year.

Sounds like you're making great great plans.
All change brings uncertainties and can have you stress at some point, but I hope that once you're there you'll enjoy yourself so much you wonder why you were even anxious to begin with.

Anyway I'm really proud of you, I know you've had to overcome some pretty heavy things and I just wish you an easy and amazing year this time!

Good luck! The leap from soph to junior year was a big one. Still high school was a lot easier than college :P Chill, relax and breath! You'll do fine.

i know how you feel, when you've been away from school for so long you kinda feel ready for it but still retain that love/hate relationship you had with it before haha! good luck with junior year- i remember year 11 (australian equivalent to junior) being a breeze:)lovely shots btw!

You're going to get different responses from everyone, but as for me, my junior year was the -best- was high school! Freshman year was kind of scary, sophomore is just awkward, but as a junior, I really felt more comfortable in my own skin. I had a solid, amazing set of friends, and we had so much fun! Even though school involves a lot of work, I think you'll have a lot of fun with it too.

And me too, ooooh, I can't wait to wear winter coat and boots! And the new collections arrive in stores so it's even more envious to wear them Ö

Learn to enjoy high school, because you'll miss the structure (that you mentioned) when it's gone. Even with a little more freedom in college, I still sometimes miss HS. And I'm in Florida, but I can't wait for fall weather. We don't get snow but it does get cool. I just want to wear tights and cute coats. I don't think that's so much of us to ask, do you? xo hope you're well.
